‘Immer Wieder Rhein’(The Rhine Again and Again)
In the nineteenth century, many English tourists on the Continent were bitten by the photography bug and left a legacy of images of their travels. One of their favourite areas was the valley of the Rhine around Koblenz. Now Norwich is twinned with Koblenz, and members of Norfolk and District Photographic Society are still taking pictures of the Rhineland. This exhibition, mounted originally by the Landesmuseum Koblenz, brings together photographs from the nineteenth century and the present day. It is coming to the Hostry thanks to the good offices of Mrs Waltraud Jarrold.
About the exhibition
The photos were judged by a trio of top East Anglian judges and all the images submitted were displayed in particular classes; only the best made it through to the exhibition.
Class 18 showed the work of the photographic club in Koblenz - Norwich's twin city in Germany.
Should you wish to find out more about any of the exhibited photographs or photographers please contact Rudi Polenik.
