Concerts and recitals

As part of Norwich Cathedral's Festival of Flowers, there is a Jacqui Dankworth concert in the Nave.  Tickets £25 and £20 available from the Cathedral Shop 01603 218450.

The Chess Valley male voice choir from Chesham in Buckinghamshire are giving a lunchtime recital.  Free and open to all.

Ralph Cupper from Norway is giving the Big Screen Organ Recital.  Lasting about ninety minutes, for this recital the organ recitalist can be seen by the audience in the Nave by means of a big screen relay.  £6 with concessions.

Commissioned by the Cultural Olympiad and brought to Norwich by the Norfolk & Norwich Festival organisers, How Like an Angel combines contemporary circus with live music, theatrical lighting, sound design and staging elements.  The event in Norwich Cathedral is the premiere before a tour of three other cathedrals across the country. 

Performances will be held at 9.30 pm on Tuesday 26 and Wednesday 27 June, and at 7.30 pm and 9.30 pm on Thursday 28 June.

GB Theatre Company return to perform The Tempest and The Taming of the Shrew in the atmospheric setting of the Cathedral Cloisters.

Pianist and composer Charles Timberlake will be giving an informal lunchtime recital in the Nave on Saturday 4 August from 11.00am to 1.00pm.

This will be Charles' fifth recital in Norwich and he will be playing a selection of his own compositions, along with well-known hymns, worship songs and popular ballads.

Visitors to the Cathedral are welcome to sit and listen or to wander around during the recital.

Norwich Cathedral's, David Dunnett, is the organist for August's Big Screen Organ Recital which lasts about ninety minutes. For this recital the organ recitalist can be seen by the audience in the Nave by means of a big screen relay. £6 with concessions.

William Saunders, organist at Ipswich School, is in recital on Bank Holiday Monday.  The recital lasts about 45 minutes and admission is free.

Norwich Cathedral's Organ Scholar, Kris Thomsett, is giving the Big Screen Organ Recital in September.  It lasts about ninety minutes and Kris can be seen by the audience in the Nave by means of a big screen relay. £6 with concessions.

Aled Jones starts his Cathedral Tour with a concert here in Norwich Cathedral on Tuesday 2 October.
