What makes the Close a special business location?
The Close is a sought after business location. Clients and staff particularly value its central location and close proximity to the station, shops and restaurants. The Close also offers something special to occupiers, not found in more standard commercial locations. The surroundings are tranquil and there is a feeling of community spirit, enhanced by the interspersed residential occupiers.
The Dean and Chapter keep in regular communication with the tenants, via meetings and lunches, to understand their current and future property needs and work to accommodate them.
We can also provide additional facilities for our commercial tenants and these will be expanded considerably on completion of the Hostry with its modern conferencing facilities. The Refectory is already available for events and other rooms can be made available for meetings/seminars. We are also able to offer car parking at Brownes Meadow on a licence basis for occupiers in The Close.
Interested in locating here?
The commercial tenants in The Close have been rather settled for many years and there has been little opportunity for tenants wishing to take accommodation. We now however have an exciting new project in Cathedral Mews, which is a stable/garage block in the Lower Close with planning permission for conversion to six, high quality offices. Details of this scheme can be obtained from Caroline Morton of Savills (01603 229202).
